Special time with Dad and Paula

I can't remember Dad ever having a lot of hair but he always carried a comb and a nail file in a case. My sister, Paua and I would spend hours combing dad's hair and cleaning and filing his nails after his long hard day at work. Dad would tell us to take the long piece of hair that grew from just above his forehead and position it to cover a round bald patch at the back of his head. I loved this time spent with him, he would be so appreciative and would sigh and relax and would feel a strong sense of closeness to him and a kind of pride at being able to do something for him.
